Your first visit to the practice will be a consultation with one of our dental surgeons. You will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire as this is a legal requirement but more importantly, an individual’s medical health can have a bearing on the treatment they receive.
We will then take the time to listen and try to understand the patient’s concerns and problems – everyone is different and it may just be the need for a straightforward check-up or a more detailed consultation for a person who has perhaps neglected their mouth and finally decided to seek help – sometimes it’s the desire to address a cosmetic issue.
A thorough examination of the mouth will then be followed by the taking of appropriate x-rays if required, and then once we have all the necessary information we will sit down and discuss the problems and potential solutions. In certain cases there can be a range of options open to the patient and we feel that it is important that the patient understands all of these.
After the consultation, you will be given a treatment plan including fees so that you will know in advance of each visit what treatments you will receive. We are always happy to answer your questions, so don't be afraid to ask!
We encourage all our patients to attend for regular dental examinations in order to prevent oral diseases. This allows us to check for early signs of gum disease, tooth decay and oral cancer.
The team are always friendly and helpful. Been coming to this practice for years and wouldn't want to go anywhere else. The advice and service is always excellent.
